Carey was 5'10 in height when she became a high-end model. The popularity of her among American fashion designers Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren was high. Her father, an accomplished scientist who received the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists' 1979 Scientist of Year award, is a highly respected geologist. Carey was educated throughout the world as a consequence of the work of her father. Following her graduation from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, she began to do modeling as a side. This caught the eye of an agent at Ford Model Agency New York. After moving to France and briefly lived at Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision to go back in New York and continue her training. Soon, Vogue, Glamour and other magazines were featured on their cover. As she modeled as she studied at a full-time level for a literary major at New York University. She became more interested in acting, and began training with the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. She began her acting career through a tiny character in 'Club Pardise' in 1986 with Robin Williams. Her hobbies include ski, white-water rafting wind-surfing and climbing rocks.
