Although this character earned her huge popularity yet she felt that the portrayal of Mary Camden as a good actress would restrict her acting ability. She appeared in Gear the magazine's cover image partly dressed in order to alter this appearance. Jessica's behavior caused a lot of discord among her followers. She quit 7th Heaven at the end of the sixth season. In the movie Ulee's Gold, she gained immediate recognition for her outstanding acting. The film earned her the prize for best Supporting Female actress. Summer Catch is a great demonstration of her ability. Even with her amazing performance Rules of Attraction was not an instant hit. The Texas Chainshaw Massacre horror film has caught the eye of many. She has also acted in suspense films and established herself as an experienced actor.
