
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27, 1976. Gonzalez was born in the southern part of California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a star football and basketball player. Gonzalez excelled at these games at University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, he set a school record for receptions with nine and tied it. After a few months, Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez was then selected for the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. Gonzalez was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. In Gonzalez's second NFL year, he was able to catch more than 59 passes per season.
